QUICKSAND: Manic Compression

Mike Litorus
October 29, 2021

Quicksand was founded in New York in 1990 and is in the post-hardcore genre.

They were one of those bands with high expectations but fell short on several occasions.

Manic Compression was their second release in 1995 and they soon disbanded afterward due to internal issues and continually touring took its toll.

They tried to get back together again with a new album in the works a few years later but the issues would split the band up until 2012.

Quicksand released Interiors in 2017 and then Distant Populations in August of 2021.

They might not be the most popular band but it’s good to see their bullshit is finally in the past and the continue to product music and forget about others expectations.

Here is the track listing....

1. Backward
2. Delusional
3. Divorce
4. Simpleton
5. Skinny (It's Overflowing)
6. Thorn in My Side
7. Landmine Spring
8. Blister
9. Brown Gargantuan
10. East 3rd St.
11. Supergenius
12. It Would Be Cooler If You Did

Platty's Editor Note: A thorn in my side? Sounds like the story of my life when getting some. 3 out of 5 squirts of my venom!
