It is a special edition from the band with an extra song to make sure the album the person in Japan is buying is legit.
The market is saturated by bootleggers and cheap copies (which market isn’t) and the extra track is to give the purchaser assurance that the purchase is legit.
Let me ask the next question? What happens when the bootleggers bootlegs the Japanese Edition?
This doesn’t make any sense to me and really pisses me off. This is just a sidestep.
I was around during the time of Napster and downloaded a lot of illegal music. If I didn’t then I wouldn’t have discovered cool new bands to support on other levels like concerts and merchandise along with purchasing the album legit. The record company controlling everything about the band and the album is a bunch of shit.
I say the Japanese Edition is also shit. We need an American and European version of albums moving forward or just stop this stupid activity altogether.
Bootleggers are everywhere and a true fans support their band regardless of the release and on multiple levels and platforms.
