The kids these days do not know the struggle of a midnight release at the record store. Man, I sound old.
These days, all it takes is having a device connected to the interweb and you can download a new album release.
I went to the store at midnight in September of 1996, well just before, and waited in the parking lot for the store to open at midnight. I rushed in and grabbed my copy of Ænima and headed to the register.
I love most of the album, but I don’t understand the intermissions or “breaks” in the album. I don’t need a mental break from listening to music. I don’t get it at all.
I finally got to see Tool live at the Central Maine Civic Center in Lewiston Maine on July 8th, 1998.
The show was excellent, but we almost didn’t make it there that night as there was a close call and defensive driving measures were required as we came close to an auto accident. We all were fine thankfully.
