That is a question I ask myself as to whom did it better. I’m my mind’s ear these 2 bands sound very similar. I always default to Children of Bodom as I heard them first. I do enjoy Kalmah and have a good time listening to their music, but COB continues to creep in my head.
This is a solid album and is another complete album where I do not dislike any of the songs but Seventh Swamphony feels like I have heard this before.
If I was handed this album with no knowledge of COB, then I would give this a 5 out of 5. However, I have heard this before.
Here is the track listing...
1. Seventh Swamphony 2. Deadfall 3. Pikemaster 4. Hollo 5. Windlake Tale 6. Wolves On The Throne 7. Black Marten's Trace 8. The Trapper
Platty's Editor Note: This album is a fun ride but only 3 out of 5 squirts of my venom is all you will get!
